Club Philosophy
Yankee Toys is committed to safe and low-impact off-road driving. This means that all of our members and friends must have vehicles that meet reasonable standards for safety and cleanliness. It is in everyone's best interest that all our trucks start and stop and light up and make it home when they are supposed to. The TLCA has a good checklist for vehicles.
Yankee Toys believes that low-impact means more than having a truck that does not leak. It means leaving the woods cleaner than we found it by picking up trash and old parts we find. Obviously, it means never ever littering. It also means wheeling in a manner that minimizes damage to the trails and surrounding land, and keeping rock stacking as a last resort. Finally, it means being responsible and mature when on the trail, so that we don't jeaopardize future access to these precious areas.
Yankee Toys prohibits alcohol from all trail rides... no exceptions.
Yankee Toys is committed to friendly and constructive interaction with our neighbor TLCA chapters (especially the North Country Cruisers and the Gotham City Land Cruisers), local 4WD clubs (such as New England 4X4 and Eastern Four Wheelers) and regional organizations (like East Coast 4 Wheel Drive Association). It is through working and playing together that we become better wheelers and make more friends. We encourage everyone to visit their respective websites.
Membership in Yankee Toys is not restricted to Toyota Land Cruiser, Hilux minitruck, Tacoma, or 4Runner owners. We are interested in members who share our philosophy and are willing to live it out. For information on joining, please contact David Beattie.
