My Custom Rear FJ60 Bumper
I wanted some extra beefy rear
bumper for my 60 and couldn't see paying $700-800 for one out of a catalog when
i could build one for less then $125.
I also wanted to incorporate some
rear quarter protection because of the vulnerability of getting bashed by rocks,
as well as integrating some steps to make it easier to get the surfboards and
what not from up top of the rig, on the rack!
Pieces Purchased
(1) 2"x5" piece of steel
7ft long
(1) 2"x2" piece of steel
7ft long
(2) 1.25" x 10' Piece of Tube
(some for sliders)
(2) Eyelets
from Mountain Off Road (for recovery rings)
(misc
metal found around the shop)
First off, i wanted this bumper to
sit flush against the frame rails so the rear cross member was removed and will
be relocated when the receiver hitch is installed into the bumper later this
week.

eventually get a tire carrier, but not yet!
Still left to do: Tie
Side Protection info the frame and tie the Receiver into the frame!
Should be done soon!
