Here are a couple additional photos of this vice. I will add in some photos of the hardwood handle that I turn for it when I get it done.

There you have it to this point. This is a wonderful vice. The quick release is engaged by turning the handle half a turn counter-clockwise and then you can just pull an entire foot of clamping area. All you need to do to tighten it back up is to start turning the handle clockwise to tighten the vice. It sorely needs a hardwood handle, you can just feel it crying with that metal bar in it.  I have found very little info on this model vice so if you have any info on it, I would love to hear from you. I have added an e-mail quick link to the bottom of this page for you.  Of course, now I have to build a better bench top as this is a BIG vice.  My new top will be about 4" thick made from ripped in half 2x8's laminated together and hand planed flat. It will be finished in Tung oil once done.
