Custom Sway Bar Disconnects
|
These sway bar disconnects are designed to allow for full range of your front or rear suspension on second generation Toyota Trucks & 4Runners. I personally run these on my 1992 4Runner, front & rear. These will come supplied with new Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings. I can supply you with the bushings for the sway bar itself (where it mounts to the frame/axle) and I can also supply you with any of the other front end bushings that you may want to add. Just e-mail me your request and I will let you know how much extra it will cost. I do recommend the sway bar bushings and 3 sets of low-profile bump stops (2 to a package, 6 needed ) I can also make custom length disconnects for lifted trucks, however, you will need to measure the distance from the top of the control arm, to the hole in the sway bar. This has to be done with the sway bar sitting level and the truck not jacked up.

These disconnects work very easy and there are no parts that have to be removed other than the pin. This allows your sway bar to stay connected and ride up and down in the shaft instead of the bar bouncing around loose. What you need to do is to be on level ground, loosen the nylon nut (9/16" wrench) and pull the pin out and keep it inside with you.. ( I will supply a spare pin in case one gets lost) To reconnect, push the sway bar up, make sure the hardened washer is between the pin and rod end and tighten the nylon nut back up..

In the above two photos you see me adding "lock tight" to the allen set screw, I have designed them so that you will have a countersunk divot that the set screw goes into. It will also allow you to torque the bushings down to where they are supposed to be just by lining up that divot. In the lower photo you see the link and an assortment of other Energy Suspension components. I can order these for you and ship them to you if needed. (once again, only the bushings on the link itself are included.) The one thing I would recommend changing at this time would be the bump stops to the low-profile bump stops seen in the above photo..
