Chu's Axle Swap (cont.)

I missed a little when cutting off the perches and had to fill and grind the housing back to new. Painted it and on to the next step.

I had to cut off the old Scout spring perches and move them. I got new ones from Mopar and welded them into place after setting the axle under the Jeep and letting weight on them I was going to install a custom CV shaft so we set the pinion angle towards the output shaft to the transfer case. Tack welded them and finished out of the truck.

A new transfercase yolk was needed to attach the Wagoneer CV driveshaft to the case and axle.

The spring plate holes for the Dana 44 are further apart then the AMC 20 axle so custom fabrication was needed.

We drilled out the holes and welded washers to the insides and ground them flat. I will replace these with 44 plates when I get the chance.
